College Grad Outlook '08

In a recent poll, almost 20% of college grads moved back in with their parents because of college debt. Other surveys put this number as high as 58%.

Nearly 70% of Christian kids walk away from God after college. Some figures place the number at 82%.

Only 54% of college freshmen finish their degree. Does this sound okay? Japan has a 91% completion rate. In a nutshell, the US is dead last for degree completion among industrialized nations.

Just 3% of college revenue in the US goes to classroom instruction. Most income is eaten up by research, public outreach (whatever that is), and maintenance.

22% of college grads have put aside career plans because of debt. Others are waiting to marry and have children.
