By Caitlin Muir

At 20, Jon David is one of the youngest deputy campaign managers in Texas. He’s a confident young man who takes his responsibilities seriously. If you were to ask him why he’s involved in politics, he would tell you that it fascinates him.

“There’s something about the combination of people and ideas. Where people, influence, and opportunity intersect, there’s an opportunity to create great positive change.”

He let the fascination turn into a passion. Everything is centered on his love for politics, giving him a focus that is rare in men of his age. His other interests include running, gourmet food, and spending time with his family. But at the end of the day, he's happy to relax by watching a political debate. It always goes back to politics.

Jon David recently took time to sit down for a quick interview.

How is CP allowing you to pursue your dream? My life purpose is to promote biblical government. Using CollegePlus! to get my degree allows me to earn the required credentials while giving me the flexibility to pursue my dream now. If I had waited until after graduation to get this involved in politics, I wouldn’t be able to. The political cycle would be off. CP is allowing me to get the required credentials for job security and letting me get the experience now.

What are you doing that you wouldn’t be able to do if you attended a brick and mortar college? I’m working as a deputy campaign manager on a campaign while most of my peers are interning. That’s huge. I have a full-time job doing what I love. Instead of being stuck in one location to sit in a classroom, I can move freely so that I can do my job well.

What are your plans for the future? My plans for the future are my plans for now. I'm living my dream. I plan to continue to work in government policy or electoral politics to promote biblical government. Graduate school is a strong option.

And after that...he was off. Chasing his dream once again.

For Jon David, the fact that he could run a campaign while his peers were interning was huge. He discovered the secret that you don't have to put your dreams on hold to get your education. Find out how you can get started on your education while chasing your dream now.
