On Campus Violence On the Rise

While the ornate buildings and scenic landscapes on college campuses may appear the picture of safety and security, think again.

According to a recent survey in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, violence on college campuses is on the rise. 45% of students report that they have been the victim of some form of violence, whether physical, sexual or emotional, the survey said. While many parents may feel their children are safe at college, this illusion is quickly fading.

With the growing number of students enjoying the benefits of college through distance learning, they have much less to fear than fellow students who don't have their best interest in mind.
