Potential Interns: Learn How to Interview!

Hire With a record number of employees facing lay offs, the next crop of business leaders faces a greater challenge of simply finding a job.

CollegePlus! and other education innovators are calling for students to think about their future beyond their college studies. While the theoretical information gained in college is helpful, employers want practical working knowledge of the industry, even upon hiring an applicant.

This reality makes it all the more important to get experience as an intern before you need to find full time work. But it all starts with that first interview. Here's how to prepare for it with tips from the Wall Street Journal.

Here are a few other tips:

- Be yourself. Don't try to be something that you aren't. If you do not fit the position well, don't apply for it.

- Do not have canned answers for every question. Interviewers do not want to hire someone who sounds like they are reading their answers out of a book. At the same time, you should not sound like you never thought of a particular idea before.
