CLEPs Gain Attention of Arizona Higher Ed Board

clep arizona CLEP exams are by far the most economical way to earn college credit. In light of the skyrocketing costs of higher education, one state is actually taking steps to integrate CLEP and other exams more fully into their university system.

Arizona's higher education officials are looking at CLEP, DSST, and other exam options as practical means for lowering college costs for state residents, according to a recent article in The Arizona Republic.

One of the most telling quotes in the article came from Ernest Calderon, President of the Arizona Board of Regents. "For some reason, many people are caught up in the 1950s mentality that you have to be in a seat in a class to learn anything," he said.

We at CollegePlus! agree with Mr. Calderon's statement, as does the College Board. That organization has found that students testing out through CLEP actually score better than their classroom bound peers.

Arizona's move toward CLEP isn't surprising since the exams only cost $72 and are worth between 3 and 12 credits each.

CLEP is obviously the wave of the future for higher education. Find out more about CLEP and degree costs by requesting our free info packet. There's no reason to pay full price for the college major of your choice!
