clep young CollegePlus! has been telling families for years that anyone, regardless of their age, can take and pass CLEP exams. Now, nine year old Ashley Medlock of Paris, TN has proven us right.

Ashley passed the Western Civilization I CLEP exam earlier this winter after taking about five months to study for the test, according to a recent article in the Paris Post Intelligencer.

New Report: College Debt Up, Job Prospects Down for Grads

college debt According to the Project on Student Debt's latest report, college debt among 2008 college grads jumped 25% over those graduating four years before.

The new debt load is $23,200 for each graduate, up $4,550 from 2004, according to the report.

Many college experts have touted the fact that a college's sticker price is much higher than what the student will actually pay once they enroll. Yet such platitudes haven't eased the reality that higher education is overpriced and doesn't offer the return on investment it once did.
