What’s God calling you to do in 2013?

Go on a missions trip? Start a business? Finish your degree? Start your degree?Move to San Antonio?

CollegePlus is Currently Hiring Admissions Advisor Interns

The Admissions team at CollegePlus wants to help you gain that invaluable experience and we are currently hiring Admissions Advisor interns for the work-study program in our San Antonio office.

Our work-study Admissions Advisor interns receive world-class sales training, followed by real life experience putting all that training into practice. Housing is provided, as well as part of the cost of your degree through our Bachelor’s Degree Program. And when your 12-18 month internship is complete, you top the list of candidates for a full time position within the company!

Think it sounds awesome, but you’re not sure how you feel about moving, or having a desk job or becoming an Admissions Advisor intern?

So did current Admissions Advisor, Caroline Westman.

Here’s what she has to say after being an intern for several months:

“If you had asked me eight months ago whether I'd ever consider working at a "desk job," you would have received a firm and resounding, ‘no.’ I probably would have even laughed at you. And in Texas, no less? Forget it. I was terrified by my mental image of a flat, barren Texas where my only company was cattle skulls and tumbleweed.

I had other plans for my future. As it turns out, so did God. Funny how He works, isn't it?

Now I've spent several months as an Admissions Advisor Intern, and though it's an experience that I never thought I'd have, I wouldn't trade it for anything. God keeps gently reminding me: ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.’ (Is. 55:8)

Why the change of heart? Well, it's transformative to work with passionate people. These people work like crazy, but they pepper their work with generous helpings of humor and encouragement (and occasional baked goods and Nerf wars). These people embrace learning and share their excitement with colleagues and clients alike. Their purpose and life-work is to help others achieve their purpose and life-work. That's a big deal.

Sales isn't really a field I'd considered either, but just a couple of hours into the first of many training sessions, I realized that I wasn't just learning sales skills. I was learning communication and counseling skills that would impact every other area of my life. And as I began to work with my supervisor in personalized coaching sessions, the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place. God placed me in this internship, learning from some of the most phenomenal leaders, to do exactly what I'm most passionate about - learning the heart's desires of people with huge dreams. And then I get to take that to the next level and say, ‘Guess what? We can help you reach that dream!’”
