How it works

Three Phases

Getting your Bachelor's degree through CollegePlus! consists of three phases tailored to your individual needs. Upon enrollment, one of our certified CollegePlus! coaches will be assigned to guide you personally through each phase of your degree, making the process of earning a degree simpler than ever before.

Phase 1 — Prepare for Success

The first phase of the CollegePlus! system prepares you with foundational resources that will accelerate your study and build lifelong learning skills. Beginning with Life Purpose Planning, you will discover and record your aptitudes as you seek God’s individual purpose for your life. You will also write a Biblical life purpose statement expressing your goals and aspirations for life and create personalized plans to make these goals a reality. While you are completing your life purpose planning, your coach will help you develop study skills that will significantly increase the speed and comprehension of your study.

Phase 2 — Earn Credit by Examination

At the beginning of this phase, a CollegePlus! degree consultant will meet with you by phone to develop a detailed degree plan that is consistent with your life purpose. This plan will include the specific exams, courses, and portfolios you will need in order to complete your degree.

Next, you will begin accumulating credit through exams to meet your general education and free elective requirements. Through college level exams such as the CLEP and DANTES, you can earn approximately 90 of the 120 credits needed for your bachelor’s degree. These exams are studied for at home, then taken at a local testing site.* (Find a CLEP or DANTES Testing Center near you.)

Throughout this process, your coach will play an integral role in providing you with a detailed schedule, study recommendations for each exam, answering your questions, and cheering you on as you accumulate credit. (See: Coaching Process and Study Modules.)

*During this phase, credits can be earned regardless of your enrollment status at the degree-granting school, thus saving you multiple years of tuition!

Phase 3 — Complete Your Degree

Upon completing your credit by exam requirements, you will have approximately 90 college credits, putting you in a position to finish the 30 remaining credits that pertain to your major. At this time, your coach will help you through the enrollment process with an accredited college or university that allows you to complete distance learning courses from home.** (Learn more about distance learning colleges.) Your coach is also prepared to provide guidance for internships, résumé writing, and interview skills. At the end, you will graduate with a fully-accredited bachelor’s degree in half the time and at a fraction of the cost of a regular, four-year degree!
