CollegePlus! Prep Student Advisor
CollegePlus! Prep is an exciting new foundational service that will launch in September of 2009. One of the primary positions we look to fill for that service is that of a Student Advisor who will help students to establish key accelerated distance learning skills and earn 12 college credits as a capstone of the process. Job Prerequisites
- Have a minimum of 60 credits by exam (CLEP/DANTES), preferably a pending or recent graduate through CollegePlus!
- Enjoy working with high school students and their parents
- Self-Motivated & Self-Directing
- Possess Organizational Skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Be a growing Christian
Job Description
By facilitating the learning process for 4-7 students in cutting edge online meetings, strengthening accountability in the student’s life, and encouraging students to get involved in service, the Student Advisor helps the student to lay a firm foundation for future success in both accelerated distance learning and life. In order to accomplish this, Student Advisors are trained to:
- Conduct Pod Meetings. During online pod meetings, the students:
- are encouraged to discuss what they learned in the previous study module
- are given an overview of the upcoming study module and reminded of due dates
- have their questions and concerns addressed as appropriate
- Monitor E-mail Correspondence. In between pod phone calls, the Student Advisor is available to answer questions or provide assistance through e-mail.
- Provide Accountability. The Student Advisor will monitor an online assignment form to ensure the student’s progress on a weekly basis.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience & ability.
