Webinars

Reading is great, but sometimes it’s nice to change things up.
Below are the video recordings of our most popular webinars.

"Demystifying CollegePlus"
About Webinar

It’s hard to believe when you first hear about it. You probably wondered if it was even possible for a student to earn a ‘real’ college degree with little to no debt, a highly flexible schedule, and with better job prospects and grad school acceptance rates than traditional college students.

And if it really is possible, how exactly does it work? Cause it probably seems pretty amazing. Amazing enough that you want to feel very confident you know how it works before enrolling your student.

This webinar is for everyone who wants to have CollegePlus explained in a way that clarifies the concepts, unpacks the process, and gives direct answers to common and uncommon questions, such as:

How does CollegePlus help students choose their major?

What does a CollegePlus coach actually DO?

What are the costs for the different majors?

How do our coaches define success for our students?

Which colleges does CollegePlus work with?

"Preparing Your Student for Grad School"
About Webinar

Understanding how to best further your student’s education often feels like an endless process. By the time you feel like you’ve mastered the art of teaching kindergarten, it’s time to move on to elementary school. Elementary school aced? Move along to middle and high school!

And then it’s time to look at college. And grad school.

And you wonder if they’re going to be adequately prepared for what lies ahead, wherever their life takes them.

On Thursday, May 16th, CollegePlus teamed up with Liberty University for a webinar to answer your questions about grad school. Topics included:

What grad schools are looking for in students

What grad schools like to see on undergraduate transcripts

How a student's undergraduate major affects their degree options at the masters level

Hear CollegePlus Regional Admissions Director, Jonathan Brush, interview Liberty University Admissions Specialist, Cassandra Hartman, as they banish rumors and remove the fear of the “uncharted territory” of a Master’s degree.

"Guns, Politics and College"
About Webinar

What do guns, politics and college have in common? Let's ask 16-year-old Trey Green.

Trey was in the midst of high school and traveled often with his dad, speaking about politics, government and freedom in America. He was also in the early stages of starting his own business as a firearms instructor.

Yet, Trey wanted to add something else to his busy schedule - college.

And he wanted to earn his degree without giving up the things he loves - guns, politics, family life and speaking about freedom. But was it even possible to do all of that? (Hint: Yes)

Rick and Trey Green talk about the business Trey started, their involvement with Patriot Academy, and how Trey is finishing up high school and remaining an active part of his family - all while earning college credit!

"Mama, Let's Talk About College"
About Webinar

Have you been looking into college for your children lately? Get sticker shocked?

Hannah Keeley, homeschool mom of 7, definitely did. “Just to send my daughter to a year of school cost us around $45,000. Multiply that by seven kids and you can understand why I get a little lightheaded... I realized I had to do some serious reevaluating.”

The good news is, after lots of prayer and research, she and her husband found what they were looking for for their family.

Hannah and her daughters, Kelsey and Katie, talk about their ‘college experience’ - including what caused Kelsey to come home from the college she attended for a year with a very different perspective.

"More Than a Diploma or Degree"
About Webinar

When it comes to homeschooling and high school, we all know one thing - high school is about so much more than the diploma. It’s about becoming a life-long learner, getting hands-on experience, customizing curriculum for the individual student and having the flexibility to be available for things that really matter.

Why should college be any different?

CollegePlus President and Co-Founder, Brad Voeller, interviews high school students who ignored the status quo and got life experience while they were earning their college degree. Whether it was by studying abroad, going on a missions trip, participating in an internship or being a part of the political process, these students are graduating with more than their degree.

They’re graduating with life experience, a life purpose and a plan for the future.

"Behind the Doors of a College Admissions Office"
About the Webinar

College debt today is skyrocketing. That’s not a big secret - it’s all over the news. But students continue to take out loans to finance the expensive schools they are set on attending, even with the overabundance of statistics and reports telling them it’s not as wise of an investment as it used to be

There are many reasons for the decisions students make on which school to attend, but a lot of the time, they are making emotional decisions. They have become emotionally attached to the school and admissions officers are trained to manipulate those emotions to ‘encourage’ the student to make the decision to attend their institution.

In this webinar, former college admissions officer Jonathan Brush will be revealing the ‘tricks of the trade’ and how to avoid falling for being manipulated into making an emotional decision. He will give you the necessary information to arm yourself to be able to make the college decision that is best for you and your family; not the one that is best for the institution’s bottom line.

About Jonathan Brush

Jonathan is a first generation homeschool graduate and a second generation homeschool dad. After he graduated college (one of the first two homeschoolers to graduate from his college - he married the other one), Jonathan worked for almost eleven years in higher education admissions, including nine years as a Director of Admissions for a private, liberal arts college.

During his career in higher education Jonathan has developed a passion and sense of mission for helping students and their families recognize their God-given gifts, and then make the best possible decisions about how to develop, strengthen, and use those gifts.

Jonathan now works as a Regional Program Advisor and Academic Coach for College Plus and lives in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with his wife Kara, and their five children.
